Virginia Wedding Venues

March 21, 2025 by Stacy Borelli Leave a Comment

There are so many options if your plan is to have a wedding in Virginia. Virginia wedding venues offer so much diversity and stunning backdrops. You really can’t go wrong choosing the state that coins the phrase, Virginia is for Lovers! Whether your vision is for a Shenandoah Valley wedding at a winery, a quaint historical location. Or maybe it’s a modern, chic outlet, the wedding venues of Virginia are plentiful. I’m going to share a few of my favorites that I’ve worked at so far.

King Family Vineyards

Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains just outside of Charlottesville is one of the prettiest Virginia wedding venues, King Family Vineyard. Your wedding altar is a backdrop of horse fields framed by mountains. The venue building itself is like a warm cozy hug with a gorgeous floor to ceiling fireplace and elevated wooden beams. It’s a beautiful blank slate to get to design Virginia wedding flowers in lending itself to a modern, yet rustic feel.

The Barns of Kanak

Situated in Prince George is probably one of the most idyllic, historical farmstead settings you could ask for from a Virginia wedding venue. The main home serves as the bridal suite and just what you can expect from a quaint farm home. There are several additional cottage style dwellings which serve as the groom’s quarters and the main office. It is still very much a working farm, but the grounds are meticulously maintained. This allows for several locations which can host your wedding ceremony site. Below are images of a colorful wedding flowers palette from a wedding I did there not too long ago. If rustic charm is the name of your wedding game, look no further then The Barns of Kanak!

The Mill at Fine Creek

Located in Powhatan, Virginia The Mill at Fine Creek has become one of my favorite Virginia wedding venues. Not just because it’s a mere 15 minutes from my house, but because it’s truly a gorgeous destination spot for weddings.

Set in its own village, amongst mature trees, native and not overly fussed with landscaping butts up against the meandering Fine Creek. This historic destination is picturesque and host to luxe cottages, a brewery, a provisions store where you can sample some novelty eats and have a wine picnic. The wedding venue itself is a historic home which itself serves as the reception hall. Having a wedding at The Mill at Fine Creek offers three options for your ceremony site: The Ruins, The Pergola and Creekside.

Avonlea Farms

Avonlea Farms is truly amongst the best Virginia wedding venues. Set on a secluded 64 acre farm, in Louisa, VA, it’s sprawl is inclusive of a lovely home, forest and a one of a kind antique glass greenhouse. The greenhouse acts as the reception hall while the 200+ year old glorious oak tree serves an idyllic ceremony backdrop. The farm setting does offer a multitude of locations for ultra picturesque photo opps and this venue is sure to be a visual crowd pleaser.
